This seal has a different appearance from the regular seals that we know and love. The hooded seal has a strange appearance because of its inflatable bladder located on the head of the adult male. But that’s not all – another and very important difference between them and other seals is that they are asocial and territorial. They are therefore very aggressive towards humans, which is why unless you want to take a headbutt, it is best to keep your distance with them. These marine mammals are usually found in the central and western North Atlantic, mostly in Canada, Greenland and Iceland.
