And here is the story of some explorers who went on an expedition and got lost in the cold waters and glaciers of Antarctica for over two years… 

A polar expedition

This is Sir Ernest Shackleton, a fairly wealthy explorer about to go on one of the most ambitious expeditions ever imagined in the world. This happened in the early days of the great exploration of Antarctica, and Shackleton’s idea was actually to search for the southernmost land in the world. After he and his team managed to cross the continent on foot, they did something historic.
