Between low wages and a high cost of living, it is not always easy to manage your budget properly, especially if you don’t want to give up some of the pleasures that actually mean you can really enjoy life, and not just survive. So what could you do to avoid that? Here are some tips that will enable you to make ends meet without giving up on some pleasure.

In order to keep a budget, the first rule is that you should always keep an overall view of your finances. From your monthly income, take out the “standard expenses” (rent, bills, food, insurance, mortgage) that you will have to pay every month – so you can see how much you’re left with. Of course, it is also worth now and then comparing prices of phone companies or electricity and gas suppliers, in order to always keep the most advantageous subscription.

All these expenses often add to almost 50% of your salary, so it is important to manage them properly. Then how do you manage the rest of it without going into your overdraft? Actually, it is very simple. You have to select your purchases carefully, and to evaluate if they are really necessary. Preferably travel during low season, have a look at all the options between different travel companies, and keep an eye on the best offers in order to manage your finances properly!

Of course, these are rules that do not necessarily apply to everyone, and you need to focus on your own priorities. But applying rules of common sense cannot hurt and might help you make wise decisions. However, don’t forget that you can break the rules sometimes!
