Dan was born in November 1962 and he developed an interest in auctioneering pretty quickly thanks to his grandfather Sam Fancher who worked in Arkansas. Fancher actually started his career as an apprentice in the 1940s, and then became an auctioneer. The man specialized in farms and livestock, which might be different from Dan but we now know where his passion came from. However, Dan did take it a step further than his grandfather, and he managed to make a real name for himself in the auctioneering business thanks to his appearances on TV.
