Daniel Dudzisz played a game that could have cost him a lot more than he thought… All because he didn’t want to admit he was lost! This homeless German nomad, who set out on foot, ended up crossing a large part of Australia, from New South Wales to Uluru, a distance of almost 4,000 kilometres.
What started out as a chilled holiday singing the “500 miles” song quickly turned into something else after a forced and very frightening stop: Daniel was stuck between two flooded river banks with no idea of which way to go.
He was forced to eat only cereals and cooked beans during the 10 days, and then just ate very small portions to get through it. Fortunately, he had taken enough insulin with him to avoid a diabetic shock. Eventually, someone spotted him and gave him the right direction to go.
