For a long time unnoticed, this particular mistake belongs to Pride & Prejudice, and was revealed by keen historians. Taking place in 1813, the movie follows Elizabeth Bennet (Keira Knightly) in her complicated romance with gentleman Mr. Darcy. Unless you are really careful and look closely at Bennet’s feet you won’t notice it, but in many sequences she is seen wearing wellies, a type of rubber boot that would only be invented about 40 later than the time of the movie. But fortunately for the movie makers, most people didn’t notice it since other pieces of clothing were perfectly accurate.
