Everyone in the herd looked at the baby elephant struggling to get back on its feet, and hoping for the best. The adults were all shocked by the situation for a while and didn’t know what to do. But then they actually realised it was their duty to do something and took some action. Because they knew the baby elephant was fighting for his life, the adults understood they had to do something about it. They knew they couldn’t just look at him and hope that everything would go for the best. So instead of counting on his ability to lift his own body, they started to make noises.
