Destroyed by a hurricane

What’s creepier than an abandoned stadium? Definitely a theme park that was ravaged by a hurricane. The Six Flags theme park used to be a fun and crazy place in New Orleans East, but it was decimated by Hurricane Katrina in August of 2005. Everyone’s favourite theme park was no longer the same place it used to be and it hasn’t been reconstructed since then. This photo was taking only two weeks after the storm had passed, the premises were still flooded and the magic was certainly dead. Now it has become a hotspot for another kind of fun. Since there are many ghost stories based around the park, it is regularly visited by troublemakers who want to catch a real ghost in action and because of this the area is regularly patrolled by the New Orleans Police Department.
