Tippi Hedren was discovered by Alfred Hitchcock when he saw her on a television commercial. He was enamored by her talent and consequently asked her to join his two projects: a suspense thriller, The Birds, and a psychological drama, Marnie. The critics and crowds approved and she received a Golden Globe for her performance in The Birds. Apart from being an actress, Tippi has spent a lot of time as an animal rights activist. It all began while she was shooting for two films in Africa and she fell in love with the African lions. Ever since she has been trying to raise awareness about the importance of conservation and she has opened her own nonprofit organization called the Roar Foundation.
