One of the biggest symbols to know you truly belong to the club is getting the vest that shows the Hells Angels insignia. When people go from being a prospect to actually becoming an official member, they therefore get a vest with the famous logo and name. According to Julian Sher, those vests are a sacred symbol for the members of the club. In fact, if they get arrested or hurt, they usually leave it to another member of the club in order to avoid damaging it in jail or during procedures. It is such an important symbol for them that they’d pretty much do anything possible to avoid cutting it or tearing it off.
