The lost city of Atlantis was first mentioned by the ancient Greek historian Plato in 360 B.C, according to Plate, Atlantis was a great naval power. It is believed that the city sank into the sea over 10,000 years ago the result of a catastrophic event. Since then, many have claimed to have uncovered the whereabouts of the city but it never seems to be in the same place, some have claimed to have found it in the Bahamas, some say in the Greek Islands, some say in Cuba. There have even been claims that the city is in Japan. However, there are debates among archaeologists whether or not the city actually ever existed in the first place, and if it did, where the most likely locations of the ruins are.
