Built on top of Chicago’s City Hall, this rooftop garden was created by mayor Richard M. Daley and architect William McDonough in 2001. Chicago desperately needed more green spaces, and this place gave visitors and employees the chance to enjoy the outdoor space. Finding some nature in the city is necessary, and this rooftop gives the chance to city officials to enjoy some greenery, as well as being a sustainable building and a relaxed environment.
