Sometimes you don’t even need to leave the airport for something bad to happen. Keith Brown was stopped at the Dubai airport because something was stuck under his shoe.
Customs officers stopped him while he was getting a connecting flight from Ethiopia to London with his wife. The problem was he had a 0.0001-oz nugget of marijuana stuck in his shoe.
Keith really had no luck, and the authorities didn’t care how absurd it all was. He got four years of prison in the United Arab Emirates. And after he served a part of his sentence, he was released early.
