During the year following Manuel’s departure, Estela, who was now alone, was unfortunately confronted with a multitude of other issues. First of all, she realised that her hearing was starting to decline pretty quickly, and that her mobility was also becoming very limited. In addition, she developed some arthritis, and things became even worse after her 91st birthday. While her body started to slow down considerably, things were about to get even more upsetting when Estela stumbled and fell while cleaning her house.
