Because it was set in Max Yasgur’s dairy farm, and because half a million attended the festival, it is normal that Woodstock created many traffic jams and lacked space for people to sleep. Given the situation, many people such as the woman pictured here slept on their cars or their motorbikes since it was too hot to sleep outside. Some people managed to sleep on tents or just in their sleeping bags. But in the end, given the lack of space, many people had to sleep in their vans or cars if they even managed to go back, or even accept to remain stuck in traffic.
