Ada Lovelace

Very interested in maths as a child, Ada Lovelace wrote software, even though she was born in 1815 and much before the invention of computers. She loved mathematical problems, and is known for having created what is considered the first-ever computer program in 1842.

Using a machine that could calculate enormous sums for translations, she actually realised the engine could do much more than that, and then even wrote a software for the first-ever computer program. It was never built, but she is recognised for seeing the potential of computers much before everyone else.
